Nasty Knuckles Presents: "Drop the Gun, Pick Up the Gloves"

Published July 29th, 2019 by Shawna

In today’s modern world, violence seems to be a recurring solution to altercations among the youth, even resulting in murder. This past weekend Triple-O sponsored a boxing tournament at Nasty Knuckles Boxing in the heart of Rochester.  The event is a nationally recognized event which promotes anti-violence and positive resolution methods. The event attracted amateur boxers from Jamestown, NY to Philadelphia, PA. Sports are a powerful tool to harness stress, anxiety, and frustration. Rochester Police Chief Mark Simmons states the warmer weather also plays a role in the increase of violence, especially with the short warm months here in Rochester.

Owner of Nasty Knuckles Boxing Robert Jiles Sr. stated “we've got a lot of things going on in the city, we wanted to get everybody together and have a good time with no issues.” What an honor to have played a small part in making this event such a success.

Here at Triple-O, we don’t just work in this city, this is our home. As a business, we work hard to support great causes like this one all throughout Western NY and beyond. Check out what other local events we support here.

Fire Safety Precautions Every Restaurant Should Know

Published July 26th, 2019 by Tripleo

Did you know? 59% of restaurant fires are from cooking. Most are small and can be contained, but are caused by failure to upkeep and maintain the kitchen exhaust system.  A blog post about fire safety wouldn't make sense without highlighting one of our local coffee spots:  Fuego Coffee. Recently we replaced their exhaust pipes and it got us thinking that some other business owners might want to consider the same. Some crucial fire safety precautions should you be aware of are as follows:

  • Class K fire extinguishers are necessary and required by law

  • Wet chemical fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens

  • All electrical equipment should be upkept and maintained regularly

  • Keep deep fryers AWAY from open flame equipment

  • Have the kitchen exhaust system regularly maintained and inspected to prevent grease buildup

  • Conduct regular inspection of fire alarms

Always advise a professional when in question of any of your kitchen equipment. We have 16+ years of experience and are only a call/text away. To set up a preventative maintenance plan for your kitchen equipment needs, call the shop at 888-705-0001. Happy cooking!

5 Tips to Beat The Heat: How do you Keep Cool in this Hot Weather?

5 Tips to Beat the Heat: How do you Keep Cool intros Hot Weather?

1. Water

Yes, mom was correct all those years when she told you to stay away from the soft drinks and other sugary drinks. Stay hydrated with water.

2. Wear Loose Cotton Clothing

Give your body some room to breathe! While some work environments don't allow for business casual, we recommend wearing clothes that allow air flow to reach your skin.

3. Eat Cool Foods

"You are what you eat." If you want to be cool, eat cool foods. Think salads, veggies and fruit. Avoid eating meat and protein-heavy foods during the heat of the day because these can increase metabolic heat production, which can add to loss of water.1 Huffington post.

4. Avoid Oven & Stove

Like point 3, try to avoid adding heat to your home. Not only will this increase the AC bill, but your body temperature will not appreciate the extra heat.

5. Air Conditioning

These are the days that your AC unit was made for. Many people try and "save money" by only turning on the AC when they are home. We recommend leaving it on even while away as cold air takes a while to rise to all areas of the home. Need new AC unit? Legalization of Marijuana in NYS

Published July 1st, 2019 by Shawna

There is a huge push to legalize marijuana across the country. Out of the 50 states, recreational cannabis is legal in 11 states. Specifically in New York State, there seems to be a standstill. So why are we at Triple-O talking about it?

Climate Control - Climate control is very important with any “green house.” Our certified technicians would be able to find an indoor temperature that isn’t too hot to fry the plants and isn’t too cool to freeze them. *Watch humidity levels as well!

Lighting - Lamps and LED lights are often used to ensure proper lighting/nutrients are getting to each plant. No sunglasses needed!

Airflow - While temperature is important, one of the great benefits Triple-O will provide in any green house is proper airflow. Keeping air moving helps prevent mold and strengthens the stems/branches of your plants.

According to the NY Times, at least 55% of New York State voters support the legalization of marijuana ( We went out to the streets of the International Rochester Jazz Fest to see how Rochestarians feel about this issue. Take a look here!
